How Much Is a Tesla Truck?

Few vehicles have generated more buzz than the Tesla Cybertruck. This truck will be faster than many sports cars, tow more than its pickup truck competition and has the Mad Max style looks that, well, you either really love or really hate.

And the truck isn’t even in production yet. The first deliveries should start sometime in 2022 or early 2023. However, for those who want one, you can put a fully refundable $100 deposit down to reserve one of these unique trucks for yourself.

If you want to join the hundreds of thousands who have put down their deposit already, you probably want to know what you’re reserving. Exactly how much is a Tesla truck going to cost you?

There are 3 models of this truck that will be made. Here is what is known about pricing right now.

How Much Is a Tesla Truck?

The three models will all basically look the same on the outside. It’s the battery/ies that will make most of the difference is both price and performance.

Single Motor Cybertruck

The cheapest model will come with one battery and has a base price of $39,900. This truck will have rear wheel drive. Tesla says this truck will have a range of a bit over 250 miles per charge. The 0 – 60mph time on this one will be 6.5 seconds and it will have a maximum towing capacity of around 7,500 pounds.

Dual Motor Cybertruck

The mid-level Cybertruck will have two motors and start at a base price of $49,900. It will have all wheel drive and a towing capacity of 10,000 pounds. 0 – 60mph times is reported to be around 4.5 seconds with a top speed around 120. The range for the dual battery model will be a little above 300 miles.

Tri Motor Cybertruck

That brings us to the most expensive (and most impressive!) model. The Tri motor which will have (you guessed it!) three motors. The base price of this truck will be $69,900. The performance and other numbers for this pickup truck may be even more jaw dropping than its looks.

This truck will get you from 0 – 60mph in just 2.9 seconds! It will pull a truly impressive 14,000 pounds and sports a range of over 500 miles per charge!

Tesla Truck Upgrades

Not much is known about the standard features and available upgrades for the Cybertruck yet. We can assume that, like with the Tesla SUVs, Full Self-Driving Capability will be one of the main options. That currently costs $10,000 on Tesla’s vehicles though Tesla says it will be $7,000 for the Cybertruck.

Other upgrades will probably include interior colors and seating capacity.

Tesla Semi Truck

Tesla is also hard at work on a Semi Truck for the commercial market. They are planning to go into production on this Class 8 electric truck in 2023.

A 300-mile range version will cost $150,000 and the 500-mile version will cost $180,000. Tesla is also planning a Founder’s Series Semi that will cost $200,000.

This truck is supposed to have the lowest cost of operation out of any semi-truck currently on the market.

Tesla Truck Changes

Things change fast at Tesla. So you have to take any information about the company and it’s vehicles with a grain of salt. For example, the Semi was supposed to go into production in 2019 but delays have pushed that back.

Delays are pretty much the norm at Tesla. So while the Cybertruck is expected to hit the streets in 2022, don’t be surprised to see that date change.

Prices also change quite a bit, even for cars and SUVs that are already in production. When we hear of any changes to prices and/or delivery time, we’ll update the information here.

Bottom line though is while these changes can be frustrating, Tesla is disrupting the car and truck market with it’s impressive and growing lineup of vehicles. As a Tesla owner myself, all I can say is they are very much worth the wait!
